Home is Where Art Journal Quilt
Description
Here's another piece about the house we moved into in 1989. I love this house, and I made this piece to write about that. Once I finished it, though, I smacked my forhead and said, "Where's the orange?" Because, well, I just can't make something for this house without using orange. So this one's gotta find a new home so I can try again.Note to self: don't forget the orange.
14" x 28", this quilt has appliqued hands (mine and my husband's--yeah, I know it's a cliché, but it's a SWEET cliché, OK?), stamping, stenciling, and hand stitching. Yes, there's a mistake in the stamping--can you see it? Almost everything you stamp is going to have some little glitch somewhere. And thank goodness for that: it keeps it from looking as if it were done by machine. Not that anything I do ever looks as if it's done by machine.
The back of this one is finished, with two little hanging loops. You might want to attach it to a rod, instead.
