Primitive Folk Art Pioneer Doll
Description
Hester is an extreme primitive early American style doll that was handmade by Old World Primitives. She is made of muslin that has been coffee stained and then sanded to give her the appearance of an aged patina. Her nose is needle sculpted, and her eyes and mouth are hand drawn in artist pencil. Hester wears a matching coffee stained red and tan checked homespun bonnet and apron. The apron is gathered and ties in the back, and the bonnet is tied on with stained string. Her arms and legs are hand sewn onto her body, and her legs have hand stitched, bendable knees. This primitive doll was created using a Netty LaCroix design, and measures 27" tall from head to toe, 12" wide, and 17" tall when sitting.Added on Aug 21, 2009
