Description

This hand dyed yellow and white roving was purchased from Claydancer here at Etsy: http://claydancer.etsy.com. The description was that it is from a Michigan wool mill that uses several different wools, including Cormo, Tunis, Corriedale, Merino as well as some Alpaca in differing amounts.

I carded it with some cloud-soft olive green Merino and spun it into this gorgeous yarn! Then I hand-dyed it with an earthy deep orange with green highlights.

It is handspun into a thick and thin single, about heavy worsted weight. It is very soft and has NO glitz.

After spinning, the yarn was washed in gentle, scent-free pure soap to set the twist, and hung to dry. This yarn would make a GREAT felted bag, chunky lace capelet, or floppy sun hat!

Weight/WPI: heavy worsted to light bulky, avg. 9 wpi
Guage: 20 st/22 rows in st stitch on US9 (4.5mm needles)
Recommended needle size: US 9 to 13 (5.5 to 7.5mm needles)

Care: Unless felting is your goal, handwash in tepid water and lay flat to dry. A squirt of hair conditioner in the rinse will make your sweater very soft!! (After all, wool is sheep hair!)
