take me away, summer // asymmetrical dangle earrings

Description

A pair of asymmetrical silver earrings in hues of blues and greens. The shorter earring is a cluster of beads, consisting of an azure blue glass bead, a small sky blue seed bead and a peridot green bead. In addition to beads, there is a leaf/angel wing made of sterling silver puncuated with a tiny purple seed bead. For the longer earring, it is a chain earring, starting with the sky blue seed bead, then peridot seed bead, the wing with the seed, and finally the round glass bead.

This piece was created with only one thought in my mind -- take me away. I did not do any planning nor sketching for this piece. As an afterthought, I think the seed bead and the leaf represent the seed of love (or hope); if you believe enough you can free yourself from the chain.

The colour inspiration is from a green maple tree outside my apartment that I passed by everyday, and the blue, blue sky above me. The azure blue glass bead also reminds me of the sea/ocean. I love how the crackled glass gives an illusion of water bubbles/glazier; the more you look at it, the more you feel that it is surreal.

I would suggest wearing these on days with a clear sky, especially after the snow or overcast days :) Look at them often on gloomy days; hopefully they will brighten you up.


Specifications
The earrings are 2 1/2" (6.3 cm) and 1 1/4" (3 cm) long respectively.

All beads are glass and all the rest are sterling silver.
