Tiny Triangle Spiral Relic Earrings

Description

Copper - an inherently beautiful metal! Probably the first metal ever worked by human beings, and sacred to that irrepressible goddess of love, Venus.

And the classic spiral - a symbol so ancient that it comes into our collective memory from somewhere before words do. You can find them carved on ancient rocks, on the walls of forgotten caves, and in the art of every culture.

Here we have the two - copper and spirals - joined together once again in a form that is as old as our species, yet, somehow, always new. These pieces could have come from the magnificent culture of antique Egypt, or from below the fallen walls of great and legendary Troy.

Each pair is individually hand sawn from light and comfortable 22 gauge copper, then, in much the same manner as the Scythians used to mint coins, the spirals are hammered into the surface. And, to finish it all off, I use my chemical wizardry to age the surface, producing a nice mottled verdigris patina. A little judicious polishing, mounting on gold plated French hook ear wires, and there ya go…

Each pair comes packaged in a nice little black velveteen drawstring pouch for safe storage amongst your other treasures.

NOTE: I make multiples of these designs, but I individually photograph and list each pair. It’s more work for me, but since no two ever come out exactly the same, and I want to be sure that you get exactly the pair you pick out.
