Description

THIS LISTING IS FOR THE PACK OF THREE CARDS SHOWN.

These three flower cards — stamped with a stem that reads, “I Love You” — were created using recycled paper and a mix of wildflower perennials seeds. Perennial seeds include poppies, forget-me-not, snapdragon, achillea, aster, rudbeckia, gaillardia, chrysanthemum, digitalis, echinacea, coreopsis, lupinus, baby's breath, calliopsis, larkspar, alyssum, bachelor's button, flax and more.

These cheerful cards began their first life as a tree, then enjoyed a life as bills, junk mail and other forms of paper. I sorted through the paper and chose the highest-quality pieces to shred and combine with water and seeds to make a pulp and reform into a new piece of paper.

After these cards have enjoyed their third life conveying your message, they can be planted and begin their fourth life as the beginning of a wildflower bed! It's a great cycle of reducing, reusing and recycling.

Simply wait until all danger of frost has passed, rip the handmade paper into pieces and spread around a flower bed, cover with 1/4 inch of soil and keep moist until germination.
Take a look at the last photo to see a sample of my saffron plantable paper that is growing on my window sill!

Cards are a standard greeting card size (5" by 7") and come with matching envelopes. Each card is made from Classic Laid 80 pound card stock in a creamy natural white, and is individually packaged in an acid-free plastic envelope along with an insert on how to plant. If these are meant as a gift, I would be happy to tie up a bundle in raffia for you for no extra charge.
