Rough Crab Claw

Description

Brass and silver crab claw is modeled after a rough claw from the Pacific and is just over 2 inches long. I have a good time making these hollow pieces even though they are labor intensive!

I start out by scribing a design on flat brass sheet. Then, I cut the shape out with my jeweler's saw and fuse silver dust to it (this is how I get the crazy reticulated pattern). Next, I I use repousse techniques to give the flat form dimension with punches. After that, I fold it up and solder it closed. The moving claw is made the same way. Finally, they are fitted together and riveted. Then the claw can be oxidized and finished.

This crab claw pendant comes on an oxidized sterling silver tigertail chain (16" or 18"). Let me know which length you would prefer in the "notes to seller" portion of checkout.
