I will first say that I DO LIVE in the birthplace of Will Rogers, in Oologah Oklahoma. So, around these parts, we know Will Rogers! For the serious collector this is a goldmine.

The story of this collection: My youngest son is in college out in Kentucky. I purchased this set on Ebay a while ago for him to use in a report he was doing on Will Rogers as a History Major. After some consideration, I have decided NOT to keep it and to pass this collection on to someone who will truly appreciate it.

WHO IS WILL ROGERS? William Penn Adair “Will” Rogers (November 4, 1879 – August 15, 1935) was a Cherokee-American cowboy, comedian, humorist, social commentator, vaudeville performer and actor. He was the father of U.S. Congressman and WWII Veteran Will Rogers, Jr.

Known as Oklahoma's favorite son, Rogers was born to a prominent Indian Territory family. He ultimately traveled around the world three times, made 71 movies (50 silent films and 21 "talkies"), wrote more than 4,000 nationally-syndicated newspaper columns, and became a world-famous figure.

By the mid-1930s, Rogers was adored by the American people, and was the top-paid movie star in Hollywood at the time. Rogers died in 1935 while on an around-the-world trip with aviator Wiley Post, when their small airplane crashed near Barrow, Alaska Territory.

These are all original newspaper clippings of "Will Rogers Says..." articles. They begin with 1921 as the oldest and following through the 30's up to 1935. Someone went to a lot of trouble to clip these thru those years and they are all displayed in plastic sheets in the binder. The clippings surprisingly are revelent to our time and you will have fun reading them. I have set a price which is appropriate for a collection such as this.
