7.25" x 8.75" Handmade Journal/Sketchbook

The covers are made from solid quilted maple - a beautifully figured piece wood. The boards were re-sawn so that the front and back covers are "book matched". They were then hand-sanded and the several inches close to the spine were made thinner with a router so that the leather is even with the surface of the board. Finally, the wood was given a satin finish with 3 coats of tung oil. The leather is a high quality dark brown goat leather.

The inside is 144 pages (if you count front & back) of hand-torn strathmore drawing paper which is suitable for pencil, ink, pastel and even light washes. It also includes hand stitched endbands made from a core of leather and 100% silk thread. The end sheets feature a eye-catching commercially made decorative paper.

This book was made to last and you will never see another exactly like it! It would make a wonderful gift for yourself or the writer and/or artist in your life.
