A little piece of Oklahoma and Route 66!

Using my Rt 66 Oklahoma Red Clay, this button magnet was made using a rubber stamp and a ball of clay. I feel like I'm playing with cookie dough when I make them. Somewhat rustic and a little over an inch in diameter, these magnets have a strong pull to them and will hold up a photo, paper or whatever. Each one is hand rolled, hand stamped and hand stained to highlight the famous Rt 66 shield - No two will be alike. They are then kiln fired and waxed to bring out the true Oklahoma Red clay color.

These button magnets are a fun way to make a statement saying you are a true Route 66 fan.

About my Rt 66 Oklahoma Red Clay:
In general, potters purchase the clay and/or the clay ingredients they use. In fact, I use purchased clay for my stoneware pieces. But my Rt 66 Oklahoma Red Clay is clay that I dig from my backyard, bring into my studio and clean, clean, clean to create a clay body base that is unique to my studio. I spent a year developing this clay body to meet the needs of my studio and started using it for my pottery in 2005. This clay is equivalent to stoneware in weight and durability and is of course, the bright red color of good ol’ Oklahoma dirt.
