Tumbled Glass, Stone and Ceramic Horseshoe Crab Frame
Description
This came out so awesome if I do say so myself. The horseshoe crab tile was created by me in which I used an actual horseshoe crab to create the impression in soft clay. I then hand painted it with a black glaze. I then incorporated blue and cranberry polished glass along with tumbled, pitted stone.Whenever possible, I try to recycle wood scraps to make the frames. This particular wood is Poplar. I then sand and stain each frame. Because the frames are from scraps or upcycled, they have a slightly distressed look. The stain for this frame is Jacobean and the wood grain is absolutely beautiful.
**Please note: There is a scratch in the wood on the back of the frame. The last picture shows it. Not sure what happened but it's not terrible. Just wanted the buyer to be aware. Adds to the distressed look right?**
I then grouted the tile and glass into the frame using a raven-colored grout. The grout has been sealed so it does not flake. Each frame is strung with heavy weight wire.
Measurements:
