I'm fascinated with Mardi Gras and Carnival. The masks, to me, are deeply symbolic of secrets, vanity and fooles. In her case, she wears the signs of love, roses and hearts, yet her eyes are wary. She's nobody's foole.

The original was done in ink and Prismacolor colored pencil on archival rag board. It was sold 3 days after completion in 2007. (just bragging a bit)

Paper has a memory. If rolled, it tries to go back to that, even when framed, thus causing ripples. For that reason, I ship flat to insure a pristine print.
