Mossy green damask bird tile
Description
This tile has many uses -- all of which will make you smile each time you look at it. Hang it on your wall, use it as a coaster or a place for a hot plate or maybe as a spoon holder on your stove.It was made by rolling a terracotta slab on a hand carved plaster slab, covered with white slip, and when dry, was carved to reveal the lovely bird. The damask patter was then added using a photocopy transfer technique. The tile has been fired and glazed with a delicious mossy green color. It measures 5 1/2 in. in diameter.
