Fat Moe Art Apron

This is just the coolest apron. My friend Julia got the pattern from her mother, who got it from the nuns: the apron was originally designed to be worn over a habit. Check out those pockets--don't you wonder what the nuns carried in those, back in the day?

Anyway, this is my version, and it's a tribute to one of my studio companions, Moe. He's sitting in the window over there as I type this, and I'm loathe to hurt his feelings by using the "f" word. Oh, not that "f-word." He's heard that one before. No: fat. Because my darlin' has a weight issue.

Anyway. This one's for him, with the names of all my cats over the years stamped in permanent ink. The fabric is hand-dyed by me in two of my favorite colors. You have to smile when you look at them. The pockets, as I mentioned, are huge: you could do your shopping in this apron. Or wear it in the studio, where you can carry brushes and paper and tools and, sheesh, just about everything you need. There's a slit up the back. Size: fits just about anyone.
