Copper Swirly Metal Hair Barrette or Shawl Pin

Description

This is a curly design hair barrette in copper. Chaum welded the barrette with nickel silver and it has a nickel silver stick. Nickel silver is a stiff metal alloy of copper, nickel, and zinc so it is quite sturdy. It is a small to medium size barrette.

Many people have told me these are the only things that actually stay in their hair. These also work very well as shawl pins.

Chaum hand makes each barrette so they are unique. The one you see here is the one you will receive.

*Measurements*

The barrette and stick measure 5.25 inches (13.3 cm) long and about 2.5 inches (6.4 cm) wide.

*Hair Barrette instructions*

The barrette and the stick are each slightly bent so they will fit tightly together. Twist the stick to release it from the barrette and pull it out. To fasten, place the barrette on top of your hair and slide the stick through the barrette so the curve of the stick is down (like a shallow “u”) then twist the stick into place. You should hear it snap. If this is too tight, the barrette and stick are each adjustable. You can bend the barrette to have a slightly greater curve if needed.
