Description

Fabulous old Ansco Pioneer film camera. Body is made of metal and Bakealight. this camera functions properly. The Ansco Pioneer was made from 1947 to 1953 in Ansco's Binghamton, New York. on the inside of the camera it says "for best results use Ansco pd16 film"
(Kodak size 616)
The 616 film was introduced in 1931, and the film was designed to give the same picture size as 116, but the the spool diameters were smaller so that the rolls could be fit into smaller cameras.
this camera can be easily adapted to fit 120 film as well which is cheaper and easier to get than the 616.
The camera was designed by New York-born industrial designer Henry Dreyfuss who also made telephone designs for Bell Telephone Laboratories.
