Here is a super cute altered journal or sketch book, made from an eco-friendly book in a fun teal color!

The hardback book is 4 1/2" x 6", and 1/2" thick. It is made in Nepal, by traditional methods, from sustainable pruning and trimming of the Lokta Bush. According to the note inside, the white handmade paper will last for centuries. It is of very fine quality,smooth yet strong. I was able to buy a few of these books locally, and all of my information about them is on the notes that came with them, which you can see in my 3rd photo!

I altered this book with a collage made from wool and woolfelt scraps, in brown tweed, mustard yellow, and sage green. I cut the squares freehand, not worrying about straight edges, for a more casual, handmade look. The center of the flower is a button from my stash that exactly matches the book cover. I added a paper "create" embellishment to the cover. The felt accents are all handsewn around the edges.
