This print is of an actual painting that is part of a very successful series of TOY paintings. This series emphasizes color diversity within the group but also I began a new focus on surface quality - something I've never done so consciously before. Working wet into wet paint thickly seemed necessary in order to more fully explore the idea of 'plastic' that I found attractive in these specific subjects. The choice of toys was initially guided by the generic plastic kitsch that I identify with growing up in the 1970's and, also, a surreal attraction to certain shapes that seem to have begged me to squeeze and/or bite into.

This is an archival print with hi resolution output. That means this is fine art quality and will not fade for over a hundred years.

A number of toy paintings are available in full color print scaled down onto an 8x10" paper :prints(H 6.25x W 6" image)and shipped protected in clear acid free sleeves and ready for framing. They look great in groupings too: see my site for all of the toy grid images!
