Duke Ellington Mixed Media on Gallery Wrapped Canvas

Description

This is an offering of a mixed media piece of Duke Ellington c. 1934 I have created on a 5" x 5" x 1" deep gallery wrapped canvas. This is from my Jazz on Canvas series.

I used acrylics for the background, an old postcard of The Duke, the letter "D" for Duke which is made of grungeboard that I have faux rusted. Vintage sheet music has been embedded in the piece. I also gave "The Duke" a little bling bling by adding 3 swarovski crystals to his crisp white shirt.

This piece has been coated with UV-Resistant Clear Matte acrylic coating to protect against harmful UV light rays which also provides moisture resistance.
