Under Atlantis - Original Mixed Media Painting

Description

Dive into the cool blues and greens in this 11 x 14 inch (27.94 x 35.56 cm) original painting. Soft hues make this study reminiscent of summer days spent floating on ocean waves.

I used many different techniques to achieve the misty, layered landscape. The underpainting was done on masonite board in watercolor and acrylic paints and combined with collage. I sprayed acrylic inks through a grid to achieve many of the patterns. The shadows are highlighted with pastels. This is an unmatted piece that can easily be framed as is or matted with glass.
