My daughter just had her second child, and I developed this pattern with her in mind.

My grandson Jaren was 10 lb. in these photos, so you can see that there is lots of room for a larger baby. He was so comfy and content in the soft warmth. He had a diaper on, so he was "safe" yet appeared to be in the natural.

I used the inexpensive Lion Homespun Acrylic Yarn for this one, but you can use any chunky or bulky yarn you like.

You only need one circular needle and a large-eyed sewing needle to complete this.

I have written this pattern with the novice in mind: Very thorough instructions and no abbreviations, and I am available for any advice you need via email.

This is two patterns in one, because you will also learn how to make the "egg". Our photos didn't come out too well, because he was splotchy and had a betadine stain near his umbilical site. I will post a photo once he is a bit more photogenic as a model! If you are curious, email me for a photo.
