This pillow will add a punch of summer to any room in you house. The top of this pillow is made completely by hand. It is considered a type of quilting, even though there is not any actual quilting on the pillow. It is a very labor-intensive pattern and the pillow cover is quite heavy because each white square is four layers thick. I took this traditional pattern and gave it a modern twist using the colors red, orange, pink and yellow. The fabrics are 100% cotton batiks. It is very easy to remove the pillow because of the overlapping back which can be seen in the last photo. I used a great butterfly print fabric on the back of the pillow.

I pre-washed each of the batik fabrics used until the water ran clear, but I would only hand-wash this cover in cold water and dry flat, as this will keep the fabric bright for a long time.

I create in a smoke-free home.
