SALE Mexican Memories no. 2, 10 inch wall decor with vintage embroidered tea towel SALE

This is a 10" wooden embroidery hoop with a vintage tea towel inside of it. The tea towel had absolutely flawless embroidery on it of a Mexican woman with a donkey. This tea towel is circa 1940. I have cut some cacti from the towel and added them to the final image as well.

I have also sewn a cloth ribbon with the words REMEMBER running across it...the image reminds me of a by-gone era...from long ago...and since the towel is vintage, I thought the words were appropriate. We are remembering many things when we look at this image. We are remembering when times were simpler, life was peaceful...maybe you will remember your Mexican grandparents, your family. It will speak differently to everyone who sees it.

There has been a little straw hat added to the edge of the ribbon.

On top of the image, I cut out a funky tie-dye sun. I thought the rays looked like hot peppers, which was intentional. It also adds a bit of a modern element to the final image, which was needed. The bright orange, red and yellow in the tie-dye really bring out the colors in the embroidered scene.

The last thing I did was add a natural hemp twine in brown and orange to the hoop around the edge. This ties it all together. The material has been glued onto the frame and cannot be removed.

I hope you will love this original, one-of-a-kind piece of art that I have created for your home. It goes really well with my Mexican Memories part 1, of a man with a donkey, taken from the same tea towel. It would make a lovely set to hang in your home somewhere!!
