I created the Empress Collection in honor of the Japanese Empresses. This is Empress Michiko. Here is part of the wikipedia description:

Empress Michiko of Japan, (皇后美智子 Kōgō Michiko, born October 20, 1934) formerly Michiko Shōda (正田美智子, Shōda Michiko?) and later the Crown Princess of Japan (April 10, 1959 to January 7, 1989), is the wife and consort of the reigning Emperor of Japan, HIM Emperor Akihito. She was the first commoner to marry into the Japanese Imperial Family. As Crown Princess and later as Empress, she has become the most visible and widely-travelled imperial consort in Japanese history. Her full title is Her Imperial Majesty The Empress of Japan.

This kokeshi ornament is wearing a glittery blue patterned kimono, topped with a blue bead with white dots. In her hair is a cluster of gems. The longest part of her 'train' of ribbons is approximately 4.5" long and she is attached to a wax cotton cord.

Face and hair carefully handpainted and with several varnishes to the entire charm, but keep her out of water ;-)
