I lived in Japan for three and a half years. I left in the spring of 2008. During my life there, I was inspired in so many ways by the culture, arts, architecture, people and nature. These earrings are inspired by the beautiful traditional arts, such as a technique where gold is inlayed on blackened steel or silver to create miniature images for jewellery or decorations. Or the spectacular and yet subtle grand paintings which stretch across a room but are highlighted in just the right amount of places with a touch of gold.
Silver cup stud earrings hand forged.
Oxidized naturally using sulphur from hot springs in Japan and accented with gold leaf.
