MODERNIZED TRADITIONS hand knit garter in banana silk

Description

This is a one of a kind piece designed as part of the CCCOE monthly team challenge. A few days before the family affairs theme was posted, I had made a scarf using delicate silver ribbon and this amazing banana fiber silk that was inspired by wedding dresses. However, this yarn has such a unique hand spun roughness with elegant sheen and I though it would be fun to make a garter with it. I added some ribbon yarn and a faceted button accent (since the yarn is thick, delicate beading got a little lost), ruffled the edge and of course added a splash of blue. It is a knit and basically a modernized version of a traditional garter style for those wanting a little less traditional version.

Diameter 15" will stretch, best if snug although can include some of the sticky tape used for garments on request.
