today's special- embroidered brass locket
Description
To celebrate being a part of etsy's 'shop live event':I'm offering free shipping and 20% off the normal price of these lockets. You can choose between a white feather on dark grey linen or some daisies on light grey linen. Each is similar, yet one-of-a-kind.
A vintage brass locket which opens to reveal a miniature embroidery: a tiny white feather. One side of the locket is left empty, inviting the wearer to add to the piece if she so desires: perhaps adding a photo of someone or some place, or a small artwork.
Please note, the locket findings I've used to make these are quite old, and have some markings and a little tarnish on and inside them. This particular locket has a few dark markings on the front. I've given them a good clean and polish before setting my embroideries inside. But they still have quite a 'vintage charm' to them.
The embroidery was stitched with cream thread on dark coloured linen and securely glued inside. The locket hangs from a simple piece of strong linen yarn.
Locket measures 1 1/2" across and the yarn is 26" long.
