Description
The Talkative Tortoise is based on an Indian fairy tale. The story tells of two ducks who hold a sturdy stick in their beaks to carry their friend the tortoise to their beautiful mountain home. The tortoise must hold on with his mouth, but he is a talkative tortoise and the ducks warn him not to speak during the journey or he will fall. The print depicts the moment in which the tortoise forgets and opens his mouth to speak.is an original two-block handcarved color woodcut print from a limited edition numbered 30 of 35. This piece is numbered and signed in pencil. The image area is about 6.5 x 9.25 inches. Printed on handmade acid-free Japanese printmaking paper in the traditional Japanese moku hanga style with Akua inks.
This print comes without a mat, mounted with photo corners on a acid-free mat board.
