Shimmering goldstone earrings

Description

LENGTH: 2.5" long.

Made from sterling silver chain, sterling spacers, faceted rondelle blue goldstone. Hangs from a fish wire hook.
Goldstone is a man made material. Thousands of tiny particles glitter against a dark blue background.

It is said that it was invented in the 19th century by an Italian monk while carrying a pan of copper shavings. He slipped and accidentally spilled them in a vat of molten tinted glass. At first they were upset but then the glass cooled and the embedded shavings sparkled like gold, and that is how the stone was made.

*These are the only pair of earrings I will ever make.
