RESERVED FOR LOLITA SMITH - a commissioned project for a good friend of mine.

His first sea glass expedition along Canada's Great Lakes shores found him an extremely rare red sea glass gem. What luck!

Sea glass usually comes from old vintage glass medicine jars and spirit bottles tossed overboard by fishermen decades ago.
Natural sea glass can only be weathered by time, sand and tide - man's folly turned into nature's beauty.

Red sea glass is found one in five thousand pieces. It usually originates from red glass ship lights that succumbed to the waters, or back in the day when automobile lights were made of glass. Since red sea glass is not in production anymore, it is extremely rare and quite the collector's item.

My friend also found a gorgeous vintage aqua blue glass tile, along with frosty weathered white pieces - one in particular that distinctly came from the neck of a bottle.

I've designed these four beautiful pieces into stunning wearable neck art - with hammered, brushed sterling silver organic circles and tiny silver leaf accents. Each joint is lovingly hand soldered by me and the glass pieces wrapped in silver wire.

This necklace can be worn in countless ways - as the toggle closures can be attached to any of the small organic circles. Double wrapped, asymmetric, drop pendant style...or just long and simple.

Either way, this design reflects my friend's true love for his sweetheart.

And what could be more beautiful than that?
