Silver and Strawberry Coopworth Wool Handspun Handdyed Yarn
Description
This yarn has been completely hand-processed since my friend bought it on North Haven Island in Maine from the lady who owned the Coopworth ewe, Dot. I washed it and picked it myself. I dyed some of it with strawberry kool aid and carded the natural silver/grey/black fleece with some of the strawberry colored fleece and then spun it up on my Baynes wheel.About 68 yards.
About 2.3 ounces.
About 10-11 wraps per inch.
2-ply yarn.
Does have some little bits of VM (grass/seeds) still--I keep picking at it!
This yarn is slightly thick & thin (my philosophy is, if it is totally even and looks like it was made by a machine, what is the point of it being handspun?).
From my smoke-free, but cat-inhabited house.
