Lighthouse Copper Journal

Description

Just like myself this Journal is an open book eager to accept new ideas. This is a miniature copper journal/book that I created with the "Thomas Ashman" hinge design. This entire book was hand tooled by me and it is signed and dated on the back. The copper cover is altered with a torch and patinas to give it the vintage aged appearance. On the cover is a print of a Lighthouse in Rhode Island. I took this picture when I visited my daughter last year. She took me here because this is the place where she and her fiance plan to get married in a few years.

All of the hardware in this piece is copper with the exception of the zinc screws and nuts. A copper chain is attached to the spine from which dangle copper beads and abalone shell charms. Inside of the book are 32 pages (64 front and back) made from speckled card stock that has been antiqued with ink. This book is a definate conversation piece. A one of a kind work of art that can be used for journaling, scrapbooking, of even a picture album. If this is what you wish I can add transparent sleeves, just Email or convo. me. The finishing touch on this book is a tan colored tassel. The book measures approximately 3" x 4.5" x 1".
Very special time and attention to detail has been taken with this heirloom piece.
