Description

Perfect for smaller art and craft projects, these bundles of assorted kimono silks are full of creative possibilities. The pieces vary in size, generally around 7" (17 cm) wide and 20"-30" (50 cm-76 cm) long, some longer, others shorter.

Fabrics are primarily silk, some may be rayon or silk blends or mystery fibers and include rinzu, ikat, meisen, and prints from the early to mid-20th century (Taisho to Showa eras). I hand pick these from garments (kimono, haori, hakama) that are no longer suitable for wear.

It takes on average two hours to unpick an entire kimono! The pieces are then sorted by condition, ironed and sorted into bundles. If you are looking for particular colors or styles, please let me know and I will do my best to accommodate your request.
