Sterling Silver Mystical Seahorse Earrings with Abalone, Signature Piece

In old seafarers lore, white crested waves thrashing and frothing with foam were said to be really seahorses riding on the surface for all to see, perchance carrying Poseidon’s forces or secret treasures from the depths of the unknown.

This seahorse surfaced with a bounty of colorful Abalone shell.

I hand-formed 18 gauge Sterling Silver wire for the body of the seahorse. Once formed, I hammered, burnished-tumbled and polished them.

Using 20 gauge sterling wire, I wire wrapped the body of the seahorse and added Abalone Shell. On top of the Abalone shell I put a hematite stone. Please read below for more information re: Abalone and Hematite.

Abalone Shell is believed to have the powers to bring ones mind, body and soul into balance and alignment.

Hematite is known as a protection stone. Greek warriors wore it in battle. It also protects one from the negative emotions of others. It is a powerful stone.
