This is a new thing I'm experimenting with. As you can probably tell from my other listings, I like to use recycled products in my work. I hate throwing things away, and always try to find uses for everything. And I use a lot of spray paint, for my stencil work. So the dead cans pile up. I've been saving them for a while, trying to figure out what I could do with them...

So I decided to spray paint a background color on them and use enamel paint pens to draw on them. This is the first one that turned out looking good. It's more of a doodle than an actual design, but it loosely uses New Orleans (Saints) colors - black, gold and white - and utilizes some tribal/folk art patterning, with fleur de lis being the focal design element.

I dunno, I just liked how this one turned out. Some people who've seen it think it's Zulu inspired - I really wasn't thinking that, but hey, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, right? Impart your own meaning to it, or just like it cuz you think it's cool.

Spray can measures approximately 8 inches tall and 3 inches in diameter. All the paint and propellent have been expelled - nothing happens when you press down on the tip. It does still have the rattling ball inside, though, so it does make noise when you move it.
