::WHO'S THAT LADY?::

“Charlotte Brontë (21 April 1816 – 31 March 1855) was a British novelist, the eldest of the three famous Brontë sisters whose novels have become standards of English literature. Charlotte Brontë is best known for Jane Eyre, one of the most famous of English novels. Charlotte used the pen name "Currer Bell" when she published her first two novels. Of this, Brontë later wrote: "Averse to personal publicity, we veiled our own names under those of Currer, Ellis and Acton Bell; the ambiguous choice being dictated by a sort of conscientious scruple at assuming Christian names positively masculine, while we did not like to declare ourselves women, because -- without at that time suspecting that our mode of writing and thinking was not what is called 'feminine' -- we had a vague impression that authoresses are liable to be looked on with prejudice; we had noticed how critics sometimes use for their chastisement the weapon of personality, and for their reward, a flattery, which is not true praise." Her novels were deemed coarse by the critics. Much speculation took place concerning the identity of Currer Bell, and whether Bell was a man or a woman. Her book had sparked a movement in regards to feminism in literature. The main character, Jane Eyre, in her novel Jane Eyre, was a parallel to herself, a woman who was strong."

This is not silk screened. I hand cut this stencil with an xacto knife.

This is apart of a feminism series of stencils I'm doing on influential women. I want to make this clothing to empower women. So, Represent! With these powerful ladies!

This is a RECYCLED shirt. Brand New Condition. Overstock purchased from thrift store. 55% Cotton 45% Modal. Short sleeves with folded style. Deep scoop neck on the front and small scoop in the back, thin material.

COLOR: Very pale blue.

SIZE: Mossimo size XX-LARGE. Approximate Measurements: 42" bust - 40" waist - 29/30" length

Charlotte is printed in BLACK.

::CARE INSTRUCTIONS::

Washable. COLD WASH GENTLE CYCLE. HANG DRY OR LOW HEAT. The gentler you are with it the longer it will last. If you need to iron it, turn it inside out and place a cloth on the shirt. Do NOT iron directly on the image!
