Sometimes my yarn tells me what it wants to be... and against all odds, this lonely orphan skein of Araucania Magellanes, rescued from a shop in Bar Harbor, wanted to be... a shawl. And so a shawl she became!

Knit in garter stitch from a thick-and-thin pure wool yarn, Fire Dancer is a versatile little slip of a thing. Wear it as a prayer shawl, or a dashing shoulder-warmer on cool summer evenings. Secure it with a shawl pin and wear it as a hip scarf (perfect for tribal bellydance!). Scrunch it up and wear as a short scarf, or drape it artfully over one shoulder for a very retro (and artsy) accent to a tailored suit.

Hand-painted in fiery, autumn-foresty shades of gold, yellow, red, and dark olive green. First two photos (in sunlight) reflect the colors truest.

Measures 39 inches from tip to tip, and 17 1/2" from top to bottom at the widest point.
