This is an edition of 500 prints done in the Moku Hanga style of Japanese Woodblock Printmaking. This print was hand pulled on mulberry paper and consists of 3 handcarved poplar blocks. A technique called Ichimoji-bokashi can be seen at the bottom gradation as a misty line of rain clouds. I sealed the image at the bottom with my handcarved stone chop and hand numbered the edition at the lefthand corner. The japanese phrase "Diligence is the Source of Empowerment" is printed in the top lefthand corner. The printing ink was hand mixed with pure powdered pigment and rice starch I cooked myself. You will receive an artist statement with each print.
