Beatrix Cloche, Olive Straw

Description

I made this feminine straw hat by hand blocking olive green parasisal straw on antique wooden forms. I sewed a wire into the edge of the slightly asymmetrical brim for extra structure. The hat is trimmed in grayish green silk ribbon that I pleated by hand and stitched in place. It's topped with a thin band of olive green grosgrain ribbon. A wider band of olive grosgrain serves as the band on the inside of the hat.

This cloche has internal measurement of 21.8 inches or a hat size of 7. This is suitable for a medium head.
