Retro. Vintage. Fabulous. Numerical.

After taking a trip to the Neon Boneyard in Las Vegas in 2006, I had hundreds of pictures that were very cool but I had no use for them at the time. The Neon Boneyard is owned by the Neon Museum and is a graveyard of sorts for old Vegas signage that they hope to eventually restore. Upon considering creating new and different collages that had a retro/vintage feel, I dug up the photos and chose 6 of them as backgrounds. So the lightbulbs, rust textures and neon tubing that you see are from real photos of old Vegas signage. The rest of the images are from various illustrations and vintage advertisements.

The collage is printed on archival cotton fine art paper and adhered to a 12 x 12 canvas that has been embellished by ink and stamping. Sealed with UVLS Acrylic Varnish, this artwork is UV and moisture resistant. Each collage will be slightly different as the canvases are embellished by hand.
