Porcelain Flower Flatback - Graduated Blues

Description

This porcelain piece has been hand formed and sculpted. It has a central crater surrounded by many textured petals and the body of the pendant has been glazed with a glossy cobalt blue stoneware glaze. The central crater has been filled with colourless glass and the petals have aqua blue glass and royal blue glass.

This piece is highly textured and sculptural and measures 1 1/4inch/3 cm long with a depth of 3/8 inches/1cm. It is unglazed and initialed on the back.

Totally unique and original, these pieces are based on my ceramic sculptures. I have been developing this technique for the past five years influenced by coral, geology and the inherent qualities of the clay itself.
