Lemon, Pear, and Wine Painting

Description

A lemon, pear, and glass of wine are painted in watercolor on Yupo. This synthetic surface absorbs very little of the paint so colors really stand out. The yellows and purples compliment each other. They are further intensified by the mat colors. I have "floated" the image on the mauve back mat even though the edges are somewhat irregular for an informal look that I feel suits this casual still life. It would look especially great in an area used for dining or entertaining. The painting itself is about 4 inches by 6 inches. The burgundy mat is 8 inches by 10 inches.
