Fused Fine Silver Chain Earrings

These earrings measure about 2.5" long. They feature Swarovski crystals.

These earrings are made from handmade fused fine silver rings and other handmade fine silver parts. They are 100% fine silver and have handmade fine silver headpins and handmade fine silver earwires.

What is fused fine silver? The metal, 99.9% pure fine silver (different from sterling silver, which is 92.5% silver), is formed into a ring and heated until molten, making the ring solid. I usually shape and hammer these rings afterward for texture and strength. This is an exacting process--the slightest overheating or underheating or uneven heating of the ring will cause an unsightly bubble of metal in the ring.
