As a special donation, over 100% of the proceeds - 85% of the sale price - of this item will be donated to charity.

These earrings are pewter charms carved with the word "Love" suspended by fine silver on brass links on sterling silver fishhooks. All told they are an inch and a half long and are very light.

The charity that will be benefitted by the sale of this item is SOS Children's Villages USA. SOS Children's Villages USA is part of SOS Kinderdorf International, which in 2002 was awarded the prestigious Conrad N. Hilton Humanitarian Prize. Since its founding, SOS Kinderdorf International has expanded to almost 500 villages in 132 countries.

In their own words, "We are currently raising over 73,000 children in our villages and through our many education, family strengthening, medical, and outreach programs, we impact the lives of over 1 million people each year. We work for children who are orphaned, abandoned or whose families are unable to care for them. We give these children the opportunity to build lasting relationships within an SOS family. We enable children to live according to their own culture and religion, and to be active members of the community. We build families for children in need, we help them shape their own futures and we share in the development of their communities. Now headquartered in Washington DC, our goal is to create awareness and build support for SOS Villages across the world. There are currently three SOS Children's Villages in the United States, two in the Chicago area and one in Florida. SOS Children's Villages USA is a member of SOS Kinderdorf International, which operates in more than 130 countries with an established track record of over 50 years of caring for the world's most vulnerable children."

Specifically, our donation will be supporting SOS' work in the US, helping provide American children who have been abandoned and orphaned with a loving and stable family environment as they are growing up. We want to share the Love with these earrings!
