Layered Vintage Zipper Jar

Description

This is a small glass jar that is completely covered in layers of vintage zippers! Every zipper is different and there are many different colors, sizes, and types of teeth giving it a modern striped look and an unusual texture. The zippers come from many decades: as early as the 1940s to as late as the 1970s, giving this piece an interesting historical context as well! The zippers are collected from many different sources, washed, split in two, and applied to the jar one at a time using water-based glue. The lid is a light, matte metal with a small handle and a rubber seal inside to keep perishables fresh.

Each jar I make is completely unique and one of a kind. They are beautiful, intricate, and sure to attract attention! They make very special gifts for just about any occasion!
