Blue and Yellow solid resin ring - - Summer Heat Lightning II

Description

This solid resin ring was created with opaque resins. Fascinating tendrils of vivid neon yellow and baby blue wind there way through out this ring in amazing intricate patterns.

Where the yellow and blue resin merges in the back, a stunning shade of green begins and subtly blends in with its partner colors adding a deeper dimension to the piece.

THE PROCESS: Made completely by hand, this ring is OOAK. I spend time creating my own molds for my rings before pouring pigment tinted resins. After the resin has been poured and it has cured, I then sculpt to find the overall shape of the ring before I start the sanding process. This takes time and patience, and a steady hand. The final stage of each ring is polishing to a brilliant shine.

Each ring is time consuming, but it is always fascinating to watch a ring evolve, take shape, and I enjoy seeing how the colors melded together in the mold. Resin can never be an exact science, especially when you are using more than one color.
