Sometimes people get hung up on their childhoods. Usually, you can figure out your friends deal-i-o's by meeting their parents.

But Mary Chapin-Carpenter was right when she said "We've all got two lives, one we're given and the other one we make." at some point, you have to work your ass off to become more than a survivor of bad parenting.

Maybe this wake up call will help the person in your life start to figure their shit out. Maybe if you give them this card, they'll stop whining to you and start fixing stuff. Or maybe it'll just make you feel better to say it, even though you know they won't change anything.

Whatever the outcome, I hope it's as satisfying for you to read as it is for me to type.
