I see these in the garden all the time. It's not until you study them up close you realise how much incredible detail there is. I just love to blow up those details out of all proportions and accentuate them. I've used string to show the veins. The iridescent medium mixed in the paint means that the light bounces around in a subtle way just like it does on a real butterfly wing.
