Cotton Slub Sport Weight--Pale Amethyst semisolid

Description

This hand dyed semisolid yarn is a softly spun, rustic, non-mercerized, 2-ply, thick-and-thin, affordable 100% cotton yarn. This interesting and easy to work with yarn is perfect for tank tops, shawls, bags, blankets, kid's clothes and sweaters or any project calling for a sport-to-DK weight yarn.

Fiber: 100% thick and thin cotton
Thickness: Sport Weight to DK
Gauge: 5.5 stitches/inch on a US 5, but also makes a nice
fabric anywhere from a US3 to a US7
Weight: 100 grams minimum
Yardage: 310 yards per 100 grams

GUIDELINES (check your pattern requirements):
1 skein for most hats
1-2 skeins for most bags, baby garments and small adult tanks
2-3 skeins makes most adult tanks
2-4 for a shrug
4 skeins for most adult long sleeve pullovers


The yarn comes to life when it is washed. Turning your garment inside out and running it through the washer and dryer for the FIRST wash will give you a much different fabric than if you hand washed it. The stitches will bloom and that first washing will give the fabric a very soft hand. Any subsequent washing should be done inside out on gentle or by hand and laid flat to dry.

Be sure to wash your swatch the same way you intend to wash your finished garment!

The dyes used are fade-resistant, however wash with like colors the first several washings to be on the safe side. As with all cotton garments and yarns, hot water and tumble drying will increase fading. For BEST results, hand wash cool with like colors and lay flat to dry.

Hand dyed yarns vary slightly from skein to skein. This is normal.
