Esther Williams - Cocktail Tea Hat - 50's inspired - 1 of a kind
Description
This is a one of a kind 1950's inspired hat I call the Esther Williams. It is a banana shaped hat covered in a black and gold brocade and then accented with dozens of silk flowers, all hand sewn onto the hat. It is lined with plain black canvas and has a hair comb and two of my no slip hair clips. this hat wont move an inch on your head when put on properly. it is designed to go onto the crown of your head, either with your hair down, or you can do a great updo and hide your bobby pins! this hat always brings attention! it measures approx. 9 inches from side to side however because its in a bent shape it appears shorter. if you want an elastic band with this just let me know, however this one really doesnt need it!All hats are shipped in a basic box that you can use to store your hat in, however If you would like your hat shipped in a custom hat box just go to my store and purchase the hat box listing along with your hat!
Little Penny Lane
Hello visitor! Here is a little information about my background in hat making - also known as millinery. I was taught the dying art of hat making by one of a handful of milliners left working in the United States today. For two years I trained, before going on my own and creating hats for celebrities, magazine photo shoots (Vogue, others), and everyday people like you and I. I use nothing but the best materials and techniques, and rarely use glue unless I absolutely have to. I have no modern technology and machines to help me: my hats are built with old fashioned techniques, setting them apart in both style and quality from the "Made in China" hats so prevalent today. Every hat I make is one-of-a-kind, although copies can be made if you are intersted... but I will always try to do something a little different every time!
Little Penny Lane hats hearken to a time when one would go to a milliner's shop and pick out unique materials and styles, a time when every head sported a one-of-a-kind creation. I take pride in knowing my customers are satisfied with my work. I have no giant workshop or employees: everything you see is handmade by me, your designer, and sent directly from my home to yours. My hats can be worn any day, any time, and EVERYONE will be asking you where you bought your gorgeous hat!
